Make: DIY Conversation Hat

... Recently at work, we've gotten this amazing hat and... let just say.. its pretty pricey.

So naturally, I reverted to my usual "I can make that..." and here it is... my DIY conversation Hat. I also wanted it to say something a little more "me" and I feel like this is a great hat to personalize or customize for any occasion (bachelor party, birthday, vacation.. etc.) PLUS the total project only cost me less than $20 with the hat being 95% of the cost.
Materials used:
- Wide Brim Hat
- Ribbon
- String Sequin
- Tailors Chalk
- Hot Glue Gun

First, I used tailors chalk to outline what I wanted it to say. I decided to keep it in the back so people would still be able to see/ read it but I put it slightly to the side for a bit of style.

This step wasn't necessary, but I wanted to take off the original trim.

I started hot glue- gunning the string sequin to the outline, carefully using as little glue as possible, so that it wouldn't show.

Added my own trimming, and cleaned up the excess glue.

DONE!

Easy 70s

As the weather is getting colder, and the 70s vibe is slowly dying down, I can't help but take advantage of my cropped flares and this adorable lace-up shirt while I still can. Paired with one of my favorite vintage finds, these lace-up western booties, theres nothing I don't love about this look.

Leather x Linen

Leather and Linen. I've definitely been trying to mix new textures and I think like these two uncommon fabrics with each other. Classic in their own ways but classier together!

Over-It-All

Remember when you were a kid, and overalls were like, SUPER cool? um yeah. still are! An easy way to make overalls less juvenile is to class it up with a blazer, a woven shirt, and some heels (.. or in my case, my fave booties) And lets not forget how convenient those extra pockets are!

Make: Convertible Tote/ Backpack

Im the type of person that carries a lot with me, but also don't like my bags to be heavy or annoying to have to lug around. I enjoy having my hands free with a backpack, but I also enjoy the accessibility of a tote at my side.

I recently saw a similar version of a convertible tote/ backpack on Amazon, but it was definitely created for more practical use. Of course, me, being the "I can make that" person I am, decided to DIY one myself in a cuter and trendier way.

I'm really excited and happy with how this came out, but its still a prototype. Hopefully in the near future, I can start mass making these or create a tutorial for everyone to make!

Think: Met Gala

Yes, of course the Met Gala is one of the most influential and biggest nights in Fashion. This years theme "China, Through The Looking Glass" is admittedly a tough one seeing how many have been seen unbefitting the Eastern culture in the past.  But luckily, class and taste definitely over shine the opposed at the prestigious event. Here are a few of my faves:

Suit Up

Bikinis don't always have to be sexy....(especially because I never feel sexy in mine), but the new trend of sporty bikinis and swim suits make them more fun and less pressure-ish... So this season I'm pairing my bikini with an edgy oversized mesh hoodie and perforated slip ons to the pool party... for like, 10 mins.  Yay. Summer.
